Basic info
HUESKER TGSTM (Green Roof)
HUESKER TGSTM is a geocomposite adsorbent nonwoven used primarily for its water retention properties in green roof structures (vegetated roof covers).
HUESKER TGSTM is comprised of a 100% post consumer recycled 8 oz/yd2 polyester nonwoven layer that is mechanically bonded to a 10 oz/yd2 synthetic hydrophilic (water) adsorbent matte which holds 10-12 times its weight in water helping plant roots stay wet longer. The typical roll size of 8 feet x 150 feet weighs only 180 pounds for easy handling and installation. Custom widths up to 24 feet are also available for larger areas.
HUESKER TGSTM is typically used in green roof structures which are an important element in LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environment Design) green building certification. Green roofs contribute as many as 15 credits to this system depending on the green roof design. Green roofs add financial value to buildings by extending the service life of the roof, reducing energy costs, and increasing the property value.
Typical application:
- Green Roofs
- Capillary flow applications
Properties
- Adsorbs and holds 10-12 times its weight of water
- Acts as a capillary dispersion layer and performs the function of a geotextile separator/filter
- It is a very strong, durable composite that is extremely resistant to puncture and tearing
- Is inert to biological degradation and naturally encountered chemicals, alkalies, and acids
