Basic info

Comtrac® is woven in the longitudinal direction (warp) from polyester and in the transverse direction (weft) from polyamide or polyester. The use of high-modulus polyester multifilament yarn and a special patented weaving process (straight warp) ensures that Comtrac® mobilizes high tensile forces at low strains. The low-creep yarn subjected to a permanent load of 50% of the short-term ultimate tensile strength exhibits an elongation due to creep of less than 1% after two years.

Comtrac® is manufactured in 10 standard versions with tensile strengths up to 1000 kN/m in the principal loading direction. Higher strength special versions can be produced on request.

Comtrac® was one of the world’s first reinforcement geosynthetics. Since its first use in 1974, Comtrac® has proven itself in hundreds of projects.

Typical applications:

  • Reinforcement of embankments on soft ground
  • Stabilization of river training works, breakwaters and jetties
  • Reinforced earth structures
