HaTelit® is a flexible wide-mesh grid for the effective reinforcement of asphalt layers

HaTelit® is made from high-modulus polyester and coated with bitumen for good adhesion to asphalt. One surface comprises an ultra-lightweight nonwoven, also bitumen coated. This nonwoven simplifies installation and ensures continuous adhesion to adjacent asphalt layers.

This excellent adhesion allows HaTelit® to take up and evenly distribute tensile forces. As a result HaTelit® provides an effective method of preventing reflective cracking in asphalt layers. Over 30 years' experience with HaTelit® has shown that maintenance intervals can be increased by a factor of 3-4. This advantage applies in cold, temperate and hot climate zones.

A road reinforced with suitably designed and properly installed HaTelit® reinforcement will remain crack-free for many years.

Typical applications:
  • anti-crack reinforcement in asphalt
  • reinforcement over joints
  • overlays to old concrete roads
  • reinforcement of asphalt layers in hydraulic engineering and landfill

Properties:
  • high temperature stability
  • elongation characteristics match the modulus of the asphalt
  • long-term dynamic load carrying capability
  • good bonding characteristics with asphalt
