By using NaBento®, conventional mineral liners are made much more reliable and
economic. This laminated composite is approx. 1 cm thick and has high quality bentonite
contained within various textile supporting layers. The components are sewn together in
a special way to provide high internal shear strength. The supporting geotextiles, sewn seams and
nonwoven aero-fabric are designed to act together with the bentonite and ensure that NaBento® provides
a long-term impermeable barrier.
NaBento® is manufactured to suit the particular application. The type and
quantity of bentonite can be specified as well as the particular synthetic raw material, ancillary
fittings and detailed design. To improve the drying performance and the shear strength of the adjacent
soils or other materials, a special coating can be applied to the surface.
The installation of NaBento® is straightforward and generally independent of
the weather. Bentonite powder/paste or a special adhesive is used to seal the overlapped joint during
installation.
Typical applications:
- stable sealing of steep earthwork slopes up to 1:1.75
- water barriers in civil and hydraulic engineering
- groundwater protection in road and railway construction
- capping of landfill sites
- tunnel lining
